When I first bought my newer truck with fuel management, the GM tech at the dealership told me; if I wanted the engine to live a long life keep the RPMs below 4500. Their tech guys have seen it all and may have some thoughts on this as well. My local mechanic suggested whatever I buy with an AFM he will send off the ECU to have the AFM flashed out.
